Some 20 passengers travelling in a mini-bus to attend ‘beegara oota’ (nonvegetarian marital feast) escaped with minior injuries after a 22-wheel truck jumped the median and collided with their vehicle on NICE Road, west Bengaluru, on Friday.
The Haryana-registration truck was carrying mosaic tiles to Mysuru when the accident took place at 1pm, police said.
The mini-bus passengers were related to a Mandya woman who married a man from Banaswadi, east Bengaluru. The bride’s married a man from Banaswadi, east Bengaluru. The bride’s party was heading to Banaswadi for the lunch, hosted by the accident happene.
The truck suddenly veered to the middle of the road, jumped the median and collided with the mini-bus coming form the opposite side,” police said adding, “The driver lost control over the vehicle probably due to a mechanical snag. The truck driver has been hospitalised with factured leg.
