BENGALURU, KA: Scooter hits parked goods vehicle on NICE Road; 2 killed on 01st July 2018

BENGALURU: A priest and his friend were killed after their scooter rammed a goods vehicle parked in the middle of NICE Road near Anjanapura Bridge on Sunday night.
The goods vehicle’s axle had snapped due to which its rear wheel had come off and the driver had gone in search of a mechanic.
Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police said Prakash, 28, priest at a temple and resident of Tirupalya, Hebbagodi, and his friend Anjaneya, 27, resident of Davanagere, who had come to the city in search of a job, were returning to Tirupalya at 11.45pm. They failed to notice the mini-goods vehicle in the middle of the road as the driver had not put up any red light and rammed it. Both the men were not wearing helmets and died of severe head injuries.Kumaraswamy Layout traffic police shifted the bodies to KIMS Hospital for postmortem, following which they were handed over to the family members on Monday. Police have registered a case and search is on for the driver. Both the vehicles were seized.
