KOTA: Four persons including mother- son duo were on Sunday evening killed and three others including a couple sustained critical injuries when the Scorpio they were travelling by overturned after one of its two back tiers pulled out of the rim on NH-27 under Simliya police station of Kota district. The people in Scorpio were going to perform Puja and Darshan at Choth Ka Barwada Mata Mandir in Sawai Madhopur district.
“The deceased were identified as Dhapubai Lodha (38), her son Sushil (18), both residents of Digod Jagir under Harnawadashahaji police station of Baran district, Girdhar Dhakar (55) of Chipabarode of the same district and driver Parmanand (35),” SHO at Simliya police station Phralad Singh said. The three were killed on the spot while the driver succumbed to his injuries on the way to Maharao Bhim Singh (MBS) hospital in Kota. “The others identified as Jamnalal Lodha (60), his wife Lalita (55) and son Nakul, all resident of Digod Jagir sustained critical injuries in the mishap and were rushed to MBS hospital where they are undergoing medical treatment,” the SHO added.
“All the members in Scorpio were travelling to Choth Ka Barwada in Swai Madhopur district for Darshan and Puja of goddess Choth Mata when around 6.30 Sunday evening one of the two back tiers of the vehicle stuck out suddenly following which the vehicle overturned to roadside killing three on the spot,” the SHO said. The vehicle was at high speed at the time of mishap, he added.
The post-mortem upon the four dead bodies would be carried out on Monday morning.
